I'm thinking the guy was wanting to know how to adjust the lockrings for spring preload?
If answer=yes then--you can buy the proper tool or most people use a punch or screwdriver and hammer to turn the lockrings. loosen the top lockring first then loosen to tighten the bottom ring. then retighten the top ring.
