Yeeee-bloody-haaaaa I have waited months for the Pampera to arrive, it got delayed in transit, held up in customs, held up again in KC customs, and finally got released this week. I go in today to sign the papers and pick it up.

The first Pampera 280 for the USA market, and it is all mine - pampamparaaahhh :)

Patman, I will definitely be looking out for them disposable underwears :) The bike looks like a real little ripper. Man I can't wait to ride, started her up in the snow (yes it is snowing here in Amarillo !) and she sounds so sweet, the bike weighs about 200 pounds, and is slim and lightweight. reminds me of the old 70's and 80's bikes, torquey engine, and low seat height - the bike is just fun to look at ! - Only confusing thing about the bike is that it has the 250 stickers, no ignition switch but comes with steering lock !

Check it out http://www.gasgas.com/Pages/2002-s/pampera-250-debut.html

I used to like my DRZeeeeeehaaaa war cry , now the Pampamparaaaaaah ! sounds just as sweet !

Sorry pat, no garage in that picture, just a Pampera in a blizzard - you should see the next series of pictures of my bike on top of the mountain in New Mexico ;)

Don't pull his finger! :p

Alan - Enjoy the new Gas. Don't smack any trees... oh, that's right, the closest tree to Amarillo is in Colorado. If you can round up another bike I'd be willing to meet you in Cloudcroft, NM sometime. Tons of trails up there. Just slap a plate on to look legal. Try and get down to Terlingua sometime too.

I am going to try and get the bike registered and plated, then it will be quite a dual-sport :)

Nice bike. I put padlocks on my rotors when I drive the WR to the store. Baja Designs has the instructions for Dual Sporting. TexKDX dual sported a couple of bikes in Texas. Have fun Good luck.

Glad to se the "Z" finialy has a replacement. Sorry for the bad timing with the weather and all. It must be killing you not being able to ride it. The white stuff will be gone by this weekend enough to ride.

The GG is staying on the showroom floor for a week or two, we just signed on a house yesterday, and the bike all in the same day. The bike goes home after we move in, and have the security system on and running.

Regardless of weather, I plan on some serious riding at the Canadian River in the next few weeks/months.

Hello BB,

Well the new 280 Pampera sounds pretty neat!! I had been checking them out about 2-3 years ago and they just looked a bit spindly with the suspension that they had then. The new 2002 bike really has a neat look to it with the seat/tank integration compared to the earlier ones!! I don't know how much of a 'up-grade' the suspension is but it certainly needed some improvement. Do you by any chance have the 2002 owners manual in your possession yet?? I would really like to know what the gearbox ratio spread is, I think it's a six speed but need to see the #'s to figure the box spread. Just trying to figure out what the gear splits are and if it has a leaning toward trials type ratio #'s on the low end(1-3 gear). I would figure that 5 gear might be 1:1 and 6th gear is a OD of some degree, Would you please PM me if you have that manual available? I guess that I could use some 'insider' knowledge on what is the best way to approach finding one of this bikes. I thought that I had read that all the 2002's that were shipped over to the USA were already allocated to dealers. SOOOOOOO my question is how does one find out which dealers have them?? Thanks! Ciao, CD

CrashDoc,

Try this link. It shows that they have 2 - 280's in stock, 1 red, 1 blue. Correct that... just noticed the red one is an TXT 280 Trials.:(

They look pretty cool...;)

Thanks JAFChE!

These Forums never cease to amaze me, it is so neat to be able to garner information from all over the country/world via fellow motorcycle enthusiasts. I will call them up and check on what they can do. I had heard that someone got theirs with setup/shipping included; if my memory serves me correctly all they had to pay was suggested retail and taxes in that dealership's area. Anyone remember who/where that was.......dealership wise?? Thanks again for your knowledge on the availability issue (do you work there by chance ??)CD

Yes you should get the $4695 OTD inclusive of shipping etc, excluding tax.

I went to http://www.cycletrader.com and did a search on Pampera and there was a dealer selling new Pamperas.

Thanks for the responses with the dealer info............I did try calling a couple of the dealers but had forgotten that alot of bike shops are closed on Mondays. I did get ahold of Maineiactrials but they didn't have any Pamperas in stock. Will try again tomorrow. Does any body have a shop manual for the 2002 Pampera? I would like to check out the gear box ratios listed in the manual. Thanks for any available feedback on that! Ciao, CD
