I pulled the swing-arm apart to clean/regrease the main swing-arm bearings and found they were trashed. Now I have nothing to go by. I went to the local bike shop to get a bearing kit and he tells me they don't sell a kit for this bike I will have to buy the parts seperately.. which will be expensive..

I have the bushings but the rubber seals on the bushings were gone.. does anybody have a part number for these rubber seals? Also does anybody know the Inside/Outside Diameter and length of these bearings?

Any help would be appreciated...

Call and talk to Charlie at CBR bearings. 1800-769-5388. He should be able to help you, and he has very good prices.

a personal point of view

Don't buy the PivotWorks replacments. They are uncaged bearings...meaning the rollers are NOT retained, they easily come out during cleaning, greasing.

Yeah...an uncaged bearing has more bearing surface cuz the rollers are not shorter due to the retaining pins being machined in them..but I'd much prefer NOT picking them up off the garage floor!

Your choice.........

BTW..CBR bearings DOES make bearings for the swingarm, but NOT for other suspension components (shock, unitrack and such). At least, that's what an email note from charlie said a week or so ago. They DO make bearings for the inside of the kdx..crank, trans and such.

Do exactly what cycleboy says. Here'r the nos. and prices from me doing it a year ago.

KAWA no. description qty. Treas. Coast
92046-1216 bearing 6 6.28
92049-1402 seal 6 2.79
42036-1245 sleeve 2 6.59
42036-1309 sleeve 1 7.04
42036-1248 sleeve 1 3.00
92049-1330 seal 2 2.79
92046-1192 bearing 1 5.84
11012-1259 cap/seal 4 6.83
42036-1056 sleeve 2 8.04
92046-1118 bearing 4 6.77
$159.54

Some of this stuff can only be had at a dealer. To me it's not worth the trouble to save a dollar per bearing and still have to go to the dealer for the final pieces. DOUBLE CHECK my numbers. Oh, and this for 95+ bikes. Someone should make a real kit...

I found the parts numbers on buykawasaki.com THANK YOU

I also looked at the part #s for the 1994 KDX 200 - they are exactly the same so I think it would be safe to order the kit for the 200.. right?
