Hey Pit_Monkey... I will post pics when I can. I have no digital camera, but usually get pics on disk when I get them developed. As far as the washing and the water spots are concerned, I don't believe the little effort to keep the shine will be bad. If it is troublesome, then I guess I could always go back with the Scott Brite pad that others mentioned and take a little of the shine off.

I polished an AC Racing sub-frame before putting on my KX and it wasn't too hard to keep up.

Knock it off you two. Take your juvenile antics elsewhere. I won't waste my time editing your posts anymore. If you continue I will simply delete the whole post and you will have ruined it for a DRN member seeking information.

don't use any cleaners like simple green, purple stuff, etc. They will cause a whitish film and are a real pain. If you can get ahold of a buffing wheel then your work will be much less time consuming. Also a liquid wax will keep water and mud off the finish, and will make the shine last much longer.

gospeedracer-
sorry about the catfight. I don't know what you edited, but if it is anything like what he has been emailing me for a few days now, sorry you had to read it.

go speed race im sorry for what i posted. however it wasnt bad and i think its something he needs to hear. the guy has been emailing hate mail and trashing me for the past month and im fed up with it. btw yardpro you say that your an adult with a phd and that since im a kid i should cool it but i find it funny that your acting just as immature as me even though your the big adult with the phd. i guess the extra years of living and education havent accomplished much.

anyway, im sorry that everyone had to see this happen.

Thanks for the advice... good to keep in mind. Usually I just use water and a brush. When my previous sub-frame would dull, I would just get out the #000 steelwool and in less than 5 minutes it would be shiny again.

I am going to try this for awhile and if it gets to troublesome, I will just scuff it some with the Scotch Brite pad so maybe it is not as noticable. Someone mentioned nice results using that method, if I am not mistaken.

just having fun with ya butt monkey, i get a kick out of getting you riled up and hearing the rantings, you make it too easy. like most kids you just don't know when to stop. I only started on you because you were quick to crack on others for the same stuff you did. Don't bust on tohers and people, especially me will leave me alone. As far as the "hate mail" It's not nice to fib like that:mad:

The mantenance involved is nothing to worry about,if you take the time to clean and care for your bike anyhow. Mother's aluminum polish works very well. I've had my frame done for a little over a year now and It has been well worth the work. I wouls suggest you getting your hands on a buffer. It will substaintally diminish your time spent on the maintenance.
