Theory Of Suspension Adjustments

Are there any sites out there which offer an explanation as to what basic adjustments one should make with their suspension settings relative to the type of terrian that they ride? In other words, under what type of terrian would you want to increase the rebound compression versus backing off the compression dampening effect
