Can I say "total hell" on the BB?

That's how I'd describe this 103 mile event. Well OK, the terrain was that way. The support was of course excellent. No t-shirts this year and my finisher pin was a 1993 model.

The course was layed out on dry hardpack before the big rains came. The times were all wrong given the clay of the area, much too fast for a timekeeper. I houred out at mile 80. When I made it back to the truck at like 5 o'clock, (my minute was 9:10), I found out that most everyone bagged out the long course. I knew that if I could finish without houring out that I would place but it was not going to happen for me.

I came home tired, wet, injured, muddy, and empty handed.

See you all at the next one.

Hey, highbeam, that was you? I was working check 4, where the gas is, wearing rain gear and a black/orange flame cap. You made it, that's more than I coulda, and there were some who looked worse on their 1st time around that check. James and I were play riding the afternoon before, took those switchbacks up to the top in really heavy rain, and I started feeling a whole lot better about the prospect of standing around a checkpoint all the next day vs riding it.
Amazingly, there were a fair amount who were within 2-6 minutes the 1st time around, but most everyone except the 1st few were pretty tired, and this was only 30 miles, so I knew people were going to be hammered by the time they made it around to us again almost 50 miles later, figured they'd be way late, and then here comes the 1st one within 2 minutes of his time... unreal. After him, seems there were a about a dozen or so within a half hour, then the few that were left were pretty much spread out.
Anyways, glad to meet you, sort of.
Night Enduro's coming up there, all the fun you just had +++
Just kidding, it's should be much drier, easier and stress free -for anyone crazy enough to ride a dirtbike at night :yikes:

What an enduro. That was cool. Of course I can say that now that its over. Really though it turned out to be alot better than I thought.

I had a good time. I dropped alot of points but thats OK. The club did a good job with check placement. I heard some people talking about the mileage being off but it always seems off to me.

I also heard one of the check crews never made it to their check so on my scorecard and I assume others, there was no mark for check 2.

I was so tired afterwards I had to make several attempts to turn the ignition on my truck to get it started. Seriously, my hands were whipped!!

Yep that was me trat. I kinda recognized you from belfair. I was pretty much pooped at that point and was ready to be done. The only person I saw after that was a broken down KTM, front sprocket wouldn't bite the chain.

At least I didn't have the sweepers get me.

I did the night enduro last year and had a good time. My lighting was not as good as some of the guys but I made out fine. I won't run it if the forest is wet.

That guy with the ktm was still sitting there when we pulled up well after an hour after we saw you, been hanging out tired, cold and wet for hours. He was waiting in a smart spot though, so we got him and his ride hooked up within minutes.

I'm probably working the night enduro, & riding the next day, stop by for a cold one after if you see me.

If the press' doom & gloom predictions are right, we may not have much rain for the rest of the summer.
