timing on 84 250kdxb4

i recently had to repalce my stator do i have to time it if so can anyone tell me how? thanks for any help

there ought to be marks by the stator mounting holes, though when ever I take the stator plate off I will make a mark of my own on the plate and case

thanks for the info but the bolts holding the stator on loosened up and blew out the holes so it was basically off when i cracked the case.

ok then.. on the stator plate will be lines by the holes one big one one 3 smalller to each side ...line the big lines up on center of screws case may have one line if you look closely
