Does anyone know where I can get plans to build a tire changing stand and a hydralic bike lift/carrier that slides into a reciever hitch (Moto Jack Rack) I think.

Someone had inquired into the carrier earlier but did not get much of a response. Please let me know of anything that would even point me in the right direction. I'd much appreciate it.

Kelsorat, please dont respond if you dont have information. If someone wants plans to build one, why talk them out of it?

Why pay for something when you can make it yourself!

Whenever I see something that I want and that I CAN make I have to make the money decision for the materials and then value my time based on whether I'm bored or not. Sometimes my time is worth nothing if it's a cool project. Since you've done the analysis and decided to build one here's what I'd do. Go look at a moto-jack-rack and take pictures and measurements and maybe even buy/borrow/rent one to use temporarily as a template. Cut and weld your copy together. I always tend to add a little thickness and toughness to these things to make up for my poor welds and to get an overbuilt product.

Since this question has been asked before, it is safe to assume nobody has any plans laying around and you'll have to figure it out. This will take some time to which you must asssign a value.

Good luck and happy fabricating.

Well I know if I had plans i would not follow them anyway for something that simple to build. Just measure your bike and see how long you want it to be. Then measure how far you want it to be from car and leave a little etra room to be safe and that should be about all. would also do what Highbeam said and just go to a store and look. I had a picture of one that somebody made(I think they maby even be on this site) That made one and to tie down the bike it had some thing like a bike stand on the rail that you would then just tie it down to the stand and it would be very stable.

I've made a few bike carriers and even a tire changing rack....

I dont really have a way to post all the plans and you really wouldn't understand my chicken scratch's anyhow.

Both are pretty easy to make.

On the carrier, the "hard" part is making it so it dosnt wobble all over the place.... I made a slip joint on the 2" reciver like a gooseneck on a bicycle. Also making the "arms" and putting them in the rght spot so they dont flex or drag on the ground...... I coppied a Joe hauler, I went into the shop with a tape messure and note pad

For the tire stand..... I got creative and created.... it was great to have a bunch of diffrent size pipe around to make the spacers.....

I'm a building maintance electrican at a major airport and have access to a "well" stocked weld shop :p

E-mail me if you have any questions......
