hey, im in a dilema here. i just got a bike but its not starting and its frustrating both me and my dad to the point that once its started and it runs well were going to sell it for a different bike. but heres my dilema.....im both to big for the 85's and superminis and im to small for the 125s and 250s.

WHAT IN THE WORLD SHOULD I DO???

get a big bike and grow into it or get a small bike nd then have to buy a new one because im to big.

im 5' 6" , but i've sat on all different bikes and to me im either to big or to small but on my bike im jsut right except its double my weight of 125 lbs.

once again

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

5'4", 145. Here's the prescription for your sickness.

Get a 125/250f.

Cut seat foam.

Lower subframe.

Seat will then be 2 inches lower.

Ride it like you stole it.

I'm with Rob. Buy the 125 and lower it. I cut the seat foam, lowered the triple clamps on the forks, and put a lowering link on my 500 and my boy's 85.

You'll be fine on the 125. I'm 3" shorter than you and about 10lbs lighter and I don't really struggle that much. I have my seat shaved and I put softer springs in and set the sag. I can touch on one side or the other or on my toes. That's good enough for me. There are times when I do have to make sure the ground is level, but I would give anything to have the extra 3".
Remember if you are looking at new bikes at a dealer
1) They aren't broken in at all, the springs do settle some after riding
2) New bikes are pretty much set up for someone around 5'9" and 175lbs (or somewhere around there)
3) Stock springs are way too stiff for us lightweights/shortys

I'm 5' 6" and ride a KX125 and an even taller KTM 200sx. No problem. Can't touch both feet on the KTM but so what? I don't routinely dog-paddle around the MX track. The KX is about an inch or so shorter than the KTM and fits me just great (for those times when I want to practice dog-paddling. Or starts :) ).
