i bought a torque spacer and power reeds for my sons kx85. i will install them one at a time so we can see how much each mod changes things. torque spacer first. will the spacer require a change in carb tuning?

I don't know. Please let us know how they work. Torque spacers are also made for the pipe.

Keihin claims that one of the positive attributes of the PWK carb is that it moves the slide area closer to the piston. My guess is that the spacer slightly increases the carb venturi signal (vacumn) at low speed settings at the expense of mass air flow at wide open throttle. If in fact you get a brighter low speed signal I am guessing that you would actually need to use a smaller pilot and a larger main due to the decreased vacumn at high RPM.

Please keep us posted :)
