I just bought a 2002 RM125 that was previously owned by a racer. Coming from street riding, I did very little work on my bikes. I hear a lot about new uppers, porting, etc. For general maintenence, what should I look out for? I think the bike is tuned for racing Supercross so it should fit my riding abilities with low to mid powerband. I'm not planning on doing any extra mods to it. I know it's ported and it has shaved heads, bills pipe. I don't really know what else. I heard I need to rebuild the heads every year. Is there that much work in these dirt bikes? I want to do as little maintenance as possible. Thanks for helping and sorry for the dumb questions, but we all need to start somewhere.

Use quality 2-stroke oil, change gear oil often, some people change it everytime theyve ridden the bike.Have several air filters ready, and change them frequently.Again, people have different habits and intervals,do a search in here for just about every subject you can imagine, and answers/opinions will come up.Also,Eric Gorrs web-site(Forward Motion) has excellent info on just about everything.Have fun! :thumb:
