If I stiffen the suspension on an 06 yamaha ttr125le will it make the bike sit higher?

Also, the manual reads: Stiffer - increase the spring preload. turn the adjuster in.

Does that mean to turn the adjuster down so the spring compresses?

What does spring preload mean?

Is there any way to get this bike to sit higher?

I dont think it will make the bike sit higher. Preloading before a jump Is pushing down on the springs right before the lip and jumping higher, like seat bouncing.

So if I turn the adjuster all the way up towards the top of the spring will it make the suspension softer? Is there any way to make the bike sit higher?

if you tighten the shock collar on the spring, that is increasing the preload, and it can make the bike sit slightly higher, to an extent. At some point you will have to put in a stiffer spring.

There is also a way to increase the preload on the forks, but it's a tad more involved. Stiffer springs work best up there.

As far as CRF150guy's definition of preload, he's correct as well, but in a different way.
