Okay, so I've wanted a bike of my own for a very long time now and just this morning, my aunt drops by and says, here's a bike you could fix up. See, this bike is old, rusted, and has a small oil leak, I can fix most the problems, even getting it just to run. But I'm also going to need a guide to help me along the way. Now the problem is it's so rusted it rusted away the model number and everything else to describe it. All it says is White Brothers, and tells that it's got Wisteco pistons. It's a white model with a green shielding and what looks like was a red seat. Ifanyone could find a way to identify it, it would help very much, and if you can't, maybe you could tell me HOW I could find out. Your help is greatly appreciated.

If its so rusted that you can not even read the VIN number stamped on the frame, I'm doubting if it would even be worth fixing...

Well, it's almost definitely a Kawasaki.. but what model and year... that's the tough one.

Is there a VIN on the head tube?

A picture of the other side would be nice too.

Looks like a Heinz 57, whats up with that frame???? Kawi engine & tank

Yeah, looks like a late 70's early 80's Kaw engine..

and best I could find was about a 1979 KX125 or KX250 tank.

It doesn't matter what it is. DO NOT FIX IT UP! It was a nice jesture on your Aunt's part, but that thing will cost you more time and money than you can imagine. Just tell your Aunt "Thank you very much, but I have learned it'll cost a fortune to rebuild the bike."

could be something chinese.

But, on the other hand, it could be a bike from the Tote-Goat Factory Racing Team.

Looks like a flat track frame, perhaps for a Yamaha 650 twin?

Seems someone mated an early '80's MX bike to a flat track frame. Not a popular combo, lol.

Note how far a distance there is between the countershaft sprocket and swing arm pivot. This means the chain tension will vary dramatically as the wheel moves through its travel. With that big a gap and long travel, derailed chains will be common.

Nice puddle underneath the left fork leg, too. Probably fork fluid, but could be brake fluid, I guess.

It almost looks like a home built frame..

It does, but it had to have been intended for something bigger than what is in there.

Due to the wide gap between the downtubes, I suspect a vertical twin. As the 650 Yammie was a popular motor and used for racing, it seems like a candidate.
