updates to 85's?

I'm in the market for an 85, looking mostly at RM's and KX's.
Can any one tell me how far back the current designs go back?
Maybe a little history of any updates over the last ten years.
A 100 is not out of the question either, has the KX100 changed since they were making them yellow for Suzuki?

My son is coming off an RM65, he has outgrown it and is now beating the snot out of my daughters XR100 :yikes:

I have an 07 KX85 that has been completely rebuilt and parked as of 09 It is set up for offroad racing (WORKS) has lots of extras Not alot of changes on the KX from 05 till now
