upgrading

This is my first time on the forums so didnt know where to post this.

I have recently (last night) ordered a 49cc piston kit and barrel to upgrade my 47cc mini dirtbike and was wondering do i need to buy a new coil aswell

what is the year and make of the bike?
or is it homemade? if so, what kind of motor?(lawnmower,chainsaw...)

and by coil you mean ignition coil right? if so I wouldn't think you would need a new one.
