Upper shock bearing

I am changing the upper and lower shock bearing on a 1999 cr250 and can't get the upper bearing out. It appears there is a retaining ring holding it in. Any suggestions on how to get that clip out. Thanks in advance.

Do you have a set of "dental pick" type tools? If you can grab the open end of the clip it should come right out. Don't lose it. Once you get that out of the way the bearing should push right out.
