Hi guys,
I just purchased an 04 yz 50 and am wanting to switch to the pro taper handlebar and was wondering if anyone recommends a good economical place to buy the triple clamp for this bike. Also I wll be running a scotts steering stabilizer.
Thanks

Redrider.

If you don't already have your stabilizer, check out www.scottsperformance.com

They offer a package deal that includes the top triple clamp, Pro tapers, steering damper and mount for a savings of about $100.00 over buying the parts individually.

I'm shopping for a top triple clamp as well. The most economical one that
I've found has been the Applied "Works" clamp. www.motosportoutlet.com has
a combo deal that consists of the clamp, bar mounts, pro taper of your choice
and a bar pad for $189.99. Definitely the best deal if you don't have the
bar already.

Speaking of this topic, sorry RedRider. My KX has removable bar clamps on the top clamp, is there a place I can get 1-1/8 replacements? The pro-tapers are a lot stronger that normal bars right? I heard that they're just better because they flex a little more becuase they're missing the cross bar.

beefydog,
I believe the KX has removable bar clamps. Unlike bikes that have the lower
bar clamp molded into the top triple clamp (YZ's I think), you can just
purchase 1-1/8" bar mounts and bolt them to your stock top triple clamp. Try
Tag metals, I know they make mounts, and I'm sure alot of other companies as
well. Good luck!
