Hi everyone.
New vintage rider/mechanic to the site. Glad to see you have a vintage section..I am up in Montana and I mainly restore/rebuild Maico's from the 70s and 80s. Have my own machine shop and I am a Tig welder so I do most everything on the bikes other then change out the rods and I hope to learn that here on this site.
Have an 82' Maico 490 that I just finished restoring as my mountain bike for this summer and am in the process of building a 74' 440 reed valved Maico as a vintage AHRMA racer for myself. With an 81' GS 490 maico taking up space in the shop also and several other bikes , CZ 400, Bultaco 360 Astro and a Honda CR500..
I also make aluminum gas tanks for my vintage restorations and have a website where I build custom silencers to order for the old 2 strokes..
Looks like a great web site to be part of with lots of info..
