Good deal! No more moto-model. Full-bore moto now! :)

Congrats. I bet it's a load off.

Firecracker. You had ACL surgery right? How long ago was that? How well can you bend your knee and squat with it? My friend had hers done in August and it is still stiff and hard for her to squat.

I had surgery on Halloween. Doc says I can ride at the 3-month mark (Feb 1) if I’m careful. Knowing, of course, that I could send myself right back to the OR. But riding is also great therapy, since it’s retraining atrophied muscles just like the stationary bike is. I can do squats fairly easily now, they bother my wimpy unused quad muscles more than my knee itself. I can bend it almost all the way; I’m lacking only a few degrees of full flexion. My doc and my therapists say I’m doing very very good and am ahead of the game strength wise. I am going to the track, not trails, since while I won’t be good for much jumping, there are just too many unpredictable things on the trails like rocks, roots etc. I’ll also be riding a smaller bike than my own. I’ll be careful! I promise!

Firecracker - That's great news!! So are you having trouble sleeping at night yet... since you know it's so close to RIDING TIME? Just take it easy at first and, more importantly, HAVE FUN!!

Take it easy your first ride back - and bring the bottle of advil. Been there, done that.
I think you'll be suprised at how much load IS on your knee. Not saying don't ride, just be careful.

Way cool, Sharla! Here's what you need to do:

1) Twist throttle
2) Go "vrooooom..."
3) Yell, "....wheeeeeeeeeee-e-e-e-e--eeeee...."

(grin) Good to have you back! - E-Ticket

Thanks all! I'm so happy just to be able to ride at all, even slowly. Baby steps.

I"m so happy for you! I am hoping to be able to be riding by then as well. I don't know if you saw my post on the ride report forum...I had a nasty accident last week in the woods, resulting in a concussion, whiplash, and a broken jaw...can you believe it?!
I'm so irriatated! Just when I was kicking butt too....
Hey, so let's ride together soon! I'm going to have to take it really easy as well for the first few rides..I'm thinking the track is a good idea for me as well...let's try and set up a riding date K?
Cheers!
