Welding a spark arrestor?

I run a fmf turbine core 2 on my KX100 and the other day, i washed out in a turn and layed the bike down. I found that i had bent the silencer inward so i gently tried to bend it back and it cracked right where the cannister meets the metal pipe :bang: . i don't want to go buy a whole new spark arrestor just for one crack. I am considering just welding that crack shut. Has anyone been in this type of situation? Any opinions? thanks

Have it TIG welded. Will be no problem. Any welding shop can do it for you. make sure you clean it real good with a wire brush. They should charge you like $15..
