Hi, i have just pickup a WER steering damper and would like to know what kind of setting you guys run?

i'm currently on 1 turn out.

Any suggestion? or advise?

Thanks

I run mine at one turn out for medium tight trails, 1 1/2 to 2 for rocks, and a 1/2 turn for tight tight stuff. The more turns the harder it is to steer in the tight stuff but you're going slower so you don't need as much damping.

It's personal preference where you run it, but I think Pete has it backwards. All the way in is the stiffest, and WER says not to run it more than 2 turns out (loosest). I would usually compromise at 1 turn out, but if I knew the trail was going to be high speed or rocky I'd turn it in some.

BTW, oil weight makes a difference in how the damper feels, so it is hard to compare your settings to others if the oil is different.

Thanks for the advise, the oil should be a 5wt as it is brand new from the store. i noticed there is some oil leakage ( will it go away?)

Current setting is at 1 turn out.

i have heard of some people mounting the WER behind the headlights but thee is no pics of it. i have to buy a new light as the stocker did not fit.
Any other cool ideas to mount it?

Thanks

Depends on the event!!!

Rough Moto.......cranked
Arenacross.......2 out
H.S, Enduro.......1/2 out

I rebuild it about 3 times a to keep the oil fresh!!
