i suspect a rich condition in my jetting but im not to experienced in dialing in my jets, so could somebody give me some not to hard to follow advice on tweaking the jets?. also every time i pull my plug it is wet whether iwas riding at full throttle before killing the motor or just idling.. is that normal or an indication of being too rich?.

Yes, it's rich.

What type of bike is it ? (is it the 77 YZ250?)
What mixture are you running in it?

Has it always been wet when you pulled the plug in the past?
Is the plug fouling?

one is a 77 yz250 , the other i think is a 77 or 78 yz400, both always have a wet plug but the 400 doesnt seem to foul.. i mix at 32:1 ratio

Can you tell when its fouling. If its fouling at 0 to 1/4 throttle then get a smaller pilot(slow) jet. If its fouling at 1/4 to 3/4 throttle then lower the clip on the needle until it stops, if it still fouls there, then get a BIGGER size needle. If it fouling at 3/4 to WOT then get a smaller main jet.
I should of probably just told you to do a search because there are many threads on jetting the carb.
Best of luck.

hmm i dont know much about the older bikes but try mixing your gas/oil a little bit less rich, to my knowledge 250s are supposed to mix 40:1 whereas 125s are supposed to mix 32:1 give it a try
Just a thought
