12 yrs old, and no experience with dirt bikes (posting under my dads account)

1) your physical size: 5' 75-80 lbs
2) How physical / aggressive are you ? not aggressive
3) what do you plan to ride- MX/SX tracks, woods, fields with friends or ????? With friends and family(sand, gravel pits, open roads..trails)
4) Do you have any riding experience? Not really
5) Do you think you will race ? No
6) Are you mechanically inclined and will you be doing your own bike work? No, Dad will do most work
7) Do YOU have a preferance to a brand/ motor choice (2 or 4 stroke)? No
8) Do you have a dealer close by your home that you might use and what brand(s) does he carry? Yamaha, Honda, Kawi, Suzuki, KTM
9) How much do you plan to spend on a bike? $1,000
10) Do you live in California? Nope, live and ride in Nevada.
11) anything else that you think would help form an opinion
I am just starting out, I road an XR100 like 3 times, thats my step-moms bike, want one of my own... :cool: :ride:

If you liked the XR100, and it fit you well, then consider it. If it felt too small, and I think that it might be, then a TTR125L (or LE), DRZ125, or KLX125 would be suited to your ability. You will have to get one that is a few years old to stay in your price range (likely 2001 or older), so your father will need to ensure that it is a reasonably clean and well maintained bike (cosmetics don't matter). Fortunately, these bikes are very low maintenance and extremely reliable.
