what exactly is the power valve?

what is the common term for this? my clymer manual doesnt say any of this. or, show how to take it out? where is it. i ride a 1999 cr250r.

On your bike I believe it's called a "composite racing valve (CRV)" Taking it out isn't a huge job but it will require removing the top end.

This procedure should be outlined in your Clymer manual.
