I am looking to buy a 05 CRF450 that needs a new fork leg (1 side), I am looking to purchase a set on a popular auction internet site, but the listings seem to not be all that consistant. ie-one will say 02, 03, 04, 05, 06. And another will say 01, 02, 03. It seems consistant with the CR 125/250, CRF 250/450 so the forks are the same based on these models, but the years are different. Sounds like hte brake mounting might be hte part that is slightly different. Can anyone help tell me all the years that are compatible with 05 crf 450

Use only 05 & 06 forks since Honda changed the axle offset in 05. You can use the 250f & 250 forks but use your springs and valving. The 06 forks are shorter on the outer tubes because they discontinued the optional 20" front tire. They will line up different on top of the triple calmps. I believe thats the changes you would e most concerned about. You can also go to an online site and look at the part #'s on a microphich. What part is damaged on the fork?

Chris, I don't know the exact damaged part, I will be inspecting the bike on Sat and find out. I have heard that the 04, 05, and 06 would work and if I got a different caliper 01-03 cr 125/250 or crf 250/450 will all work. True?

Depends if your replacing both forks or 1. If both you are correct but if one the 1st. post still stands. In 05 the axle is 2mm closer to the bike than the 04 and past models.
