I just bought my first brand new bike (had tons of used ones) and I after alot of reading I've decided it would be a good idea to tear apart my linkage and steering to grease it after I get done with the break in. Just curious what would be a good type of grease for this? Thanks for any info.

I like Amsoil 100% synthetic. I've also used BelRay Motorcycle grease with great success.
I guess the key is just buy the best quality you can find.

I use the waterproof type , it's designed for marine use, and doesn't wash out when power washing

Correct.

Sully is correct... waterproof bearing grease is what you should be using.
