What other motors fit into a 2000 frame

My KDX200 motor has been retired due to a serious KIPS valve failure, so now i'm left with a good frame awaiting a means of drive. Apart from a KDX motor, are there any other motors that people have put into there bikes just for fun. eg a KX125 or similar. cheer's.

With the right welding and fabrication skills, you could get all sort of different motors in that bike.

Agreed with Indy. Don't expect anything to "drop right in", but with some patience, planning, and work, anything is possible.

Yes i know what you mean. With the motor out the frame looks so simple so i,m eyeing up an old XR200 i have in the shed with a really good motor and the temptation is there to throw it in. I Havent done any pre measure yet , but ya never know.?

What's the story on the retired engine? Would you be interested in selling it for parts?

The gearbox and motor casing had severe damage. The motor has been given to the mechanic for spare parts.

Damn. That woulda been worth a couple hundred to me, and many others I'm sure. Hope your mechanic is giving you come compensation for the "gift".

I am curious though, how did you end up with gearbox damage from a kips failure? Opposite ends of the horse in that equation....
