Hey guys. I have a 2002 KX250 which currently is running an expensive BR8EV plug. It fouls one about evey week or 2, when I first start the bike (before it warms up).

What is the difference in the plugs, such as BR8ES, BR8EV, etc? is it just the quality of the materal used?

What do the number/letters AFTER the BR8 mean? And does the BR8 just symbolize the heat of the plug?

I was told that most people run BR8ES in thier motocross dirtbikes becuase they are cheap, therefore it is no biggy when you foul a plug. And they don't seem to foul any more or less than the expensive ones anyways!

Is it ok to run BR8ES in my KX 250? Thats what the bike had in it when I first got it, and its 100% stock, so I'm assuming that is fine :)

If your fouling your BR8EV, you'll foul the BR8ES quicker. The last letter basically designates eloctrode style/material. If your bike is properly jetted, you'll have no more spark plug issues. I change mine once a year, just because I feel like I should.

sounds like your pilot jet is rich.Read up on the jetting link at the top of this page.It will explain how to jet your bike. When it is corrected, you wont be buying sparkplugs.
