What Should I Be Concerned With?

I'm looking at buying a 2002 yz250. My only concern is that supposedly it hasn't been used much in the last 2 years and has been sitting in storage.

I know it's still on the original top end and they say they have started it occasionally, but I'm sure that the carbs will have built up varnish that will need to be cleaned.

Should I be concerned with a bike sitting in storage for so long? What potential problems will I need to look out for?

Not really. My recommendation is if you buy the bike. The first thing I would do is drain the oil and replace. Next clean the carb and completely drain the gas. Fire it up and do a compression test. It should be a round 200 psi.

Don't forget to clean the air filter and check the air pressure in the tires also.
