what should reeds look like on a 2 stroke

I am still suffering the top end sputters on my 01 CR 250 but don't believe it is jetting issues so much. I looked at the reeds and they are all partially open, shouldn't they be completely closed? Maybe it is letting too much gas through and choking it off on top end. Bike runs fine on bottom and mid but totally chokes on top end till you hold throttle open and it clears out.

Reeds should be seated completely on the reedblock. You can try flipping them over, but I would just replace them and ensure they are fully seated.

I thought so, I'll try flipping them over till I can get some replacements.

By golly that fixed it. She runs like a scalded dawg now....wooohoo!
