what oil do i use for my xr70 i have gotten it about 3 months ago(from someone) and i have just cleaned the carb and would like to change the oil i was going to try car oil but will that ruin the bike. :ride: :ride: :ride:

Car oil will not ruin your bike but it could cause your clutch to slip because of the detergents in it. Motorcycle oil doesn't have these detergents so it is better for your clutch. But i have ran 10w30 car oil in my xr70 and never had a problem. The smart thing to do though is to use motorcycle oil. :)

meh its an xr. you cant mess those things up. :D

yea car oil shouldnt to too much damage but motorcycle oil is better. you dont need any high grade oil in that thing.

Use a good diesel oil and you will be plenty fine. Delo would be my choice but Rotella is good as well. It holds contaminants better than regular gasoline engine oil and since the little XR doesn't have a filter....
