What year is my KTM?

I just picked up a KTM 80 MX. I know its from the 1980's but I dont know exactly what year it is and I would like to find out. The only number on the frame that I could find up by the steering is this: "8602 37297". I assume this is the vin. So by looking at this, can you tell what year it is?

Call a local KTM shop, they should be able to decode it for ya.

haha. Yeah, its in really nice shape. Ive cleaned it since the picture was taken. Yeah, it has one of those new zero maintenence invisible chains. Pretty sweet huh :cool:
