What's a warmer or colder plug?

I have read several times that woods riding can require a hotter spark plug to help with a bike running slightly rich.

What would be a hotter plug from a BR8EG. I thought that a BR7EG would be but I couldn't find one. Maybe I'm wrong. Can someone shed any light on this for me.

Thanks

You are correct,as the number goes down on the plug, the hotter it is.

Yes the lower the number the hotter the plug is. But you gotta watch out when using a hotter plug cause the engine tends to run hotter and can cause a lean condition. If you need to run a hotter pulg then you can just run a BR7ES.
