Hello, I recently recieved a Yamaha Enduro 250. From the photos I have found on the internet I would guess that it is a 68-73, but I really don't know. When I picked it up at the place it had been stored, the man told me he thought it was a rare bike but wasn't much more helpful than that. I think that all the original parts are there and have been told it was in running shape before it was put away. The tank is a simple yellow/orange color and there is a bit of rust everywhere. I would like to restore this to use a daily ride, but really am feeling like I'm in a little to deep. Does anybody have any ideas about identifying this bike and finding a chilton's type manual? Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

finding the numbers?

I've been looking around the site and noticed that some folks had identified thier bikes by the v.i.n. numbers. How do I find them?

Welcome to the site TimberFramer

As far as you Tamaha goes, I am betting it is a DT-1, which was a model designation throughout the 70's. Sounds like a fun bike. As Okie said, send us some photos and we will bet them up for people to help you identify the bike.

OK, I have to ask ... are you a timberframer? I'm an architect and am going to yse timberframe on my personal house that I will be starting next spring.

I didn't think to look ... have you updated your info? If not, do so and perhaps there is a member nearby.

Oops .. I see you are in NH. Check out the Damn Yankee Dirt Riders forum for some folks in your area. One of the finest members on the site lives in the NW corner of RI. He is "old" enough :rotfl: to have probably ridden DT's as a kid ...
