Which older 250MXER for me?

Hi I am just getting back in to riding/racing Motocross after a 2 years off my past bikes were 96 CR125, 01 CR 250R and 96 KDX that i am selling. I don't have money to buy a new bike yet. Before the break I had been riding for 5 years I am 6'1 180lbs so i think I am a bit big for a 125.Looking for something in the 2500-3500 range. Here are my chose from the bike for sale in my area are there any models I should stay away from?

95 HONDA CR250, aft market pts, in gd running cond, new plastic, Answer handlebars $2700
96 YAMAHA YZ250, powder coated frame, One Industries graphics, compl reblt mtr, top & bottom, ported & polished, weighted flywhl $2850 obo

These one are alittle out of my price range but look like good deals maybe I should just wait and save

Part of you're post is wrong, the 2003 KX250 is $3995 "new" not $4995. I just bought one 3 weeks ago. Don't let a dealer shaft you on that. Pick up a cycle trader and you'll see some dealers in there offering it for $3995. Great bike, love it.

Given that he's in Canada I imagine those prices are in CDN $$$. That being said those prices are still a little high for our market in Manitoba, only you'll have an idea how they line up in BC. I imagine that $4995 for the 03 KX is at Richmond Motorsports? if you've got the cash can't beat that deal IMO.

Again with the exchange no shafting involved. At todays exchange rate that $4995 works out to about $400 less than you paid for yours :p

sorry forgot to add I am from BC Canada. For a 2004 Honda CR 250R it cost $7,599.00 with out tax. My 2001 CR 250R cost 7200.00 with tax it came to 8000.00 just to get a idea of the cost.

I would definitly go have a look at the YZ! Not sure how far you want to travel but Power Sports in Olympia had two '03 YZ 250's for $4500 US (each), still kinda high for you I know. Cycle trader has good deals in it every week! good luck
