Believe it or not, I got my wife to buyoff on the idea to get rid of our living room furniture and put in a pool table! She said since we don't even use the room anyway, it would be nice for the kids, and me, to have the table there. It's been in there for over a year and I love it! Great conversational piece for your buddies that come over. They think I have it made.

Up here in Idaho us rednecks just call it shootin' pool!

I used to shoot in a league every Monday night, but I never did get better! Had to give it up because I couldn't stand the smoke! I still go down and shoot a few games at noon on Fridays once in a while. I wouldn't mind a table (maybe snooker?) but I just don't have the room. I bet I could fit in a bumper-pool table, though!;)

The condo unit my grandparents live in is trying to get rid of their table, and offered it to me for free! BUT, the :uh: part of it is (just wanted to use the new icon), it's a brand new 6'x12' snooker table (or 5'x12', can't remember)that was donated to them! My house has not near enough room for one of those monsters. I'm tempted to take it and then sell it, but that'd be pretty low considering they want to give it to me as a favour. Still, I'm really considering knocking out a wall or two to make room for it...

Maybe I'll pull a Drew Carey and put her in the back yard... ;)

I play at least once a week. Just for fun (never for money). I get in that zone every once in a while where I just can't loose. Never lasts very long though I'm pretty inconsistant.

I keep tryin to get my brother the pool shark to come on a dual sport ride with me. (he's not ridden a dirt machine in about 20 years) He keeps getting free trips to vegas to play pool in tournaments but i'm trying to get him to do something a little more "exciting". I play in the local bars but can't hold a candle even to the local players. :ugg:

We've had a pool table for about eight years now and I still can't shoot. But, I do know how to jump the cue ball over the other players ball real good--it drives Thom crazy and I don't know why.....I've only lofted it completely off the table once or twice. :p

I love snooker the best of all billiards games, but I have only found one pool hall around here that even has it. They only have 2 snooker tables, and they charge $20/hour to play on them, so, needless to say, I don't play much.:(

In college I worked in the student activity center passing out weight belts and kicking out people that did not belong in the center. It was the coolest job that I ever had. The place was never busy on my shifts. I got paid to do my home work, play pool, and watch the hundreds of channels they have on satellite. Before digital became popular. It was an 8' dish with five or six birds to choose from (auto alligning to each one). If it paid as good as my current job I would have taken another major. The coolest thing about it was we had six pool tables and on snooker table. My roomate and I won the semiester touriment in doubles a couple of times and I took the single once. I played at least 2 hours a day when I worked and for about an hour every day after lunch. I was pretty good when I left college. I have not played much since, but when I do its like riding a bike( it all comes back). I wanted to join a legue, but I travel a lot a would not be home for most of the games so I didn't join. Since I left college I have not found anyone that shares the interest. Its a shame because I realy enjoy the game. We used to call it "Shootin some stick". I would love to have a table in my house. Someday I will have a place big enough to put one.
