Who wants 2-Strokes to come back?

this is a fun debate, and I enjoy both 2 and 4 strokes. however if you are being as objective as possible its hard to deny the power per / cc the 2 stroke provides. On the subjective side there is the control that is gained with a 4 stroke. I race a class that allows 250s..period. 2 or 4 stroke. on fast tracks the 2 stroke are the advantage, on slower tracks / more technical tracks the 4 stroke is the advantage. Next season I am going to race both. Bring the right tool for the job...

The 4 stroke is too easy to ride. I am pretty certain the broken back club would concur. AND, I am pretty certain when the electric bikes get abundant, they will put the f to shame in the emergency room. The big 4 pretty much control what we get, always have. Funny how the lead ban deal blew up in their face, and is still not over, they know karma. The tracks, the f's use different/odd lines. Layout is very arguable the same. Fact: The 2 stroke will make a better racer/rider overall than a f only racer? The grapevine, RV will start rehab on the trickest 250 smoker some have ever seen! A 2 stroke comeback for the full line up, not at all. A little respect would be nice, Thank you Yamaha! Now please put an efi on some? AJ!

2 stroke all the way i really just don't like the 4 stroke's yes they make good power and can put it to the ground but if your 2 stroke is geared right they can put the power to the ground to and besides the 2 sroke just flat out sounds better. just my 2 cents

i enjoy 2 stroke i have a 01 yamaha yz 125. i enjoy the smell of a 2 stroke in the morning when i get ready to ride

Is there anyone that can go from a 4 stroke to a 2 stroke and not make the comment, "man this thing feels so light, is it a kids bike?". 2 stroke technology is much simpler and thus lighter, I dont think anyone can argue with that.

I know several people that were very pro 4 stroke once they received improved performance around 2000 or so, but as they have gotten older have gone back to 2 strokes because the 4 strokes take so much energy to throw around, despite having to shift less.

CC for CC a two stroke will simply kill a 4 stroke. You will never prove me or anyone else that that is not so. So whenever "they" level the playing field, CC for CC, then all this nonsense will end. Two strokes do now and forever will have more power per CC and they are by virtue of their simplicity, much lighter. Done! :coocoo:

They put millions of dollars worth of making 4 strokes better than 2 strokes, just imagine if they invested that money into 2 strokes instead. 4 strokes will never have the power of 2 strokes. Just impossible.

this is exactly what I was thinking I have got a bunch of 4 stroke guys at work that sit there and talk mad crap all day you go ahead and get your peace of crap 2 stroke my 450 will stomp it on single track. what they don't know is that have stomped plenty of 450's on single track so i cant wait to get the new bike set up and then it is time for some 450 a$$ whoopin' lol

My arm and shoulder still hurts from crashing those overweight enduro 4 strokes. I do fine on the lightweight stuff, but I simply cannot handle the weight.

I think they should not only bring back two strokes, but also get rid of water cooling. Too much maintenance!

Apples and Oranges. I watched a national level pro, riding my son's YZ250, get beat by a local fast guy on his 250F. Point is the HP is there but the 4T pulls better all over the track. The 2T is sooo fun that you should go to the Red Bud two-stroke nationals this upcoming weekend. Then you can ride apples to apples.

The two stroke not hooking up as well on a track is due in part to track design. Tracks have been re-designed around the 4t, so obviously that is what does better. All it would take is a little development on the 2t engine to get around this. Unfortunately everyone still making 2 strokes is still throwing out the same old designs. Hopefully soon we will see something trans-formative in the MX two stroke area.

thats a funny thing, i saw a national level pro on his own 450f that couldnt pull away from my 35 year old buddy on his '01 cr250.

2 strokes are way better than 4 strokes, it takes more skill to ride a 2 stroke, i rode my buddies 08 kx 450f around a track and the biggest debate is 2nd or third gear most of the time. What happened to the days when u actually had to go through the gears and actually use the clutch and your powerband, motocross has just gotten lazy and gone soft, fuel injection, reprogramable parameters for the computer, what happend to jetting a bike this **** is ridiculous. You tear up a top end on a 2 stroke your out 150 bucks, you tear up a top end on a 4 stroke and the sky is the limit!! Who else misses FMF and pro-circuit make those beautiful big nickel plated and platinum series pipes and also seeing the works looking bill's pipes and DG's, has the world gone mad?
