why bike ran better with blown head gasket?

one day, my head gasket got out of whack and was letting coolant into the cyliner and on my sparkplug,, but for some reason my bike idled better.. why is that?

Different compression, different fuel mixture, any number of reasons. Maybe coolant is secretly an idle enhancer. Maybe I'm just a Smart @$$ ;)

It probably becasue the fluid boosted the compression. I bet the low end power was better too.
