I noticed that the national stopped going to gator back raceway in Ocala florida many years ago was there a reason for that . Why dont they change some of the races around and find a few new tracks each year and get rid of a few...switch it up.. a good track for nationals would prolly be Muddy Creek raceway in Tenn.

That's a good question, I've raced there a couple times and have always loved that track and wondered myself why they don't go there anymore :ugg: . Hope somebody knows.

That was the "orphaned" national it happened during the middle of the sx season way before the rest of the nats started.
Finding a mx track capable of hosting a nat isnt all that easy. Ive heard Muddy creek was trying to get one but its my understanding that Budds cried and claimed he would sell the track to a housing developer if he lost his nat.

Because it always fell before the SX season was over. Usually the week before Daytona. The riders and teams didn't like to have to change all of there setup for just one race and then go back to SX settings. Also if a rider was injured during the SX season at the time of Gatorback, then he was screwed for the outdoors before it even started. It made sense to not have any Nationals before the SX season was over, but not to scrap it all together. They should just schedule it later. There is probably some reason they can't. Might have something to do with MXA. Also, they have to cram as many nationals around the New York/Pennsylvania area as possible. We could certainly use a few more National around the country, such as Texas, Colorado, Montana and certainly Florida.

Ther are some very nice track in Texas and OK that could host a national. Swan, Lake Whitney, Cooperland?!. I say watching a National Motocross is much better than supercross for the true motohead.:D
