would you buy 03 suzuki?

looks like the magazines seem to like the 03 rm 250 so far..
ive always heard rm's were junk compared to other bikes. do you guys really believe that?

Modern RM's are just fine. I've owned 7 RM's ranging from 95-02; 2- 80's, 3- 125's, & 2- 250s. All were fine.

Would I buy a 03? Absolutely, if I am in the market for new bikes. Nothing wrong with the yellow brand.

BTW, I've always heard that 89 YZ125's were junk.

i've never owned a suzuki but i know LOTS of people who do, both road and dirt bikes. never heard a suzuki specific complaint about them. i'd buy an RM if i was buying a new MX bike. mostly because there is a sale at my local dealer and they're about a grand less than the others.

didn't a feller named Jeremy McSomthing finish second in the 97 SX series on a more or less stock RM?

point is, if you find a good deal on one go for it.

I've owned a 92 RM 125 and an 02 RM 250. I had a few Hondas in between. The improvement in the quality of the components and build of the old RMs compared to the new RMs is 100%. In the past, the RMs did have trouble, but now they are on par w/ the other manufacturers.

Everyone has told me Rms 2000+ are great, but the rest are junk...

I dunno if that's true but I'v not met somone with a 2000+ that complained.

I can tell you that any of the 85s can be raced copetitively in stock form. The RM has the easiest motor to race because it has the most low-end hp.

hey los,, tell me something about your rm,, do you think your narrow frame and seat wears you down over long rides? Would you rather your bike be "fatter"?

I don't think so. I think it makes the bike "feel" lighter. I've ridden an 02 CR 250, which is a slim bike. It "felt" heavier and much wider....even though, in reality, its not much that nuch wider and is supposedly lighter.
I like the new RM's feel. It's like a super fast 125.

I own a 81 RM 125 and it runs fine, still starts pretty much first kick and handles very well. I dont know about the RMs not being built as well as the other brands around this time, cause my bike seems to have been built very well. My brother bought a 2003 DR-Z125L as a play bike this summer, it works very well too.
So I don't see anything wrong with going with an RM.

From the previews in the mags, the RM250 at least seems to be pretty good. One of my racing adversaries just got a -03 RM250 trading in his YZ426F and so far is very glad to be back to two-strokes.

I'm considering the RM, too, since it reportedly has no real flaws and is roomy out of the box (I'm 6'4").

It is about 700 euros less expensive than a YZ to boot. I might have to wait until -04 since my -02 520 SX might be too expensive still to get a decent trade-in.

i had a 95 rm80 and it was ok, it had good power and handling but the suspension was harsh i also owned a 98 ds80 thats the only 2 suzuki's i owned
