WR bags a turkey for me

Yesterday one hour before work I decide I have time to take a quick spin on the bike. I enter the woods in my backyard and see a flock of turkeys running in all directions. I did a very fast exit drove into the garage throwing my helmet and equiptment anywhere. I grab the Browning Auto-5 and three magnum shells and run back into the woods (orange vest and hat also). I drop to one knee on a ten ft. embankment I drop off of on my bike and wait. After a couple of minutes I see one behind me so I swing the gun around and shoot. The recoil knocks me over the bank because of my position.

When I got back up the bank I see I got it. I don't have time to clean it so I leave instruction for the wife on how to clean it(she never cleans my game). The wife tried to call me at work but couldn't get a hold of me. I came home at 1:00 am and saw the turkey very clean and ready to freeze. You got to love it.

BTW, it's "Vegan" and I'm not one of those people who feel it's my personal crusade to go around making everyone see things my way. To each their own. Whether I agree with it or not.

New Year's resolution: Go Vegan, just to piss off Jaybird. :p

I'm sure you don't understand why I asked the man if it were a tom.

You won't piss me off by going vegitarian, unless of course you DO start harping at me about it. Heck, why wait till new years?
I happen to be one of those folks who thinks that people who are vegitarians should be shot for feeding thier pets "vegitable only" foods, but those folks can eat all the turnip greens and yambi root they want to.

Hunting just for sport is what I have reservations about. :mad:

It only cost me 30 cents for a 14 pound HEN turkey. Can you get that deal at your local store? Are there really people that don't eat meat or is it an internet hoax??????????? Just kidding!!

Ha! I need no gun to get a turkey! Check this out.
Last spring, I was riding my XR on the strip road above home, when a rounded a curve and saw a hen turkey in the middle of the road. I slowed down and pulled up to it. It was acting funny, because usually a turkey will spook easy and run/fly off. It just stood there. Then I saw it had about 7 chicks with it. One ran across the road in front of me, so I parked the bike and ran after it. It got to the woods, and I lost that one, but there were about 3 more running around with it. One tried to hide in a dead log, but only its head was hidden. It was like an ostrich hiding it's head in the sand. I picked it up and took it back out to the road. It was about 8 or 9 inches tall, and was yellow and brown colored. Ugly little thing. Meanwhile the moma turkey was circling around making noises, so I put it back down for fear of being flogged. I wish I had a camera.
I've sneaked up on turkeys, goats, even pigs on my stealthy 200.

False Advertising!

How disappointing it was to read the post, only to see that the WR didn't really have any part in taking the bird. I was hoping to hear about you riding half-****ed and liquored up and pinning the poor bird between your hefty iron and another tree. Or better yet, shooting it cowboy style like Wild Bill seconds before impact with an Elm.

No go out there and don't come back 'til you've done it right! :p

Haha, thats a good one, and a good lady! Last week my buddy got a squirrel with his YZ125, that was a mess! The week before was fun, we started hurding a flock of wild turkeys in a large open field, they finally spooked when we got in too close! Crap was raining from the sky that day. Weirdest animal incident happend today, and although its not bike related, it's hilarious! I was riding with a friend in his old beatup Chevy Truck from work when a Lama (Yes a really freak'n lama) ran out infront of us. We didn't hit it, but it was close. We found out where it came from, as it was running around the general area, there were also some sheep that had got loose. So we shoved the sheep back in the pen, but that lama was kinda intimidating! So we called the sherriff, and he came out, and the three of us hearded the stupid thing into the pen. It was pretty weird. It woulda been cool hurding the thing on the good ol KDX220! Ok, thats enough of my animal stories...:confused:
