I like both the WR450F and YZ450F, but I lean towards the YZ. I was wandering what I would be giving up in an enduro or hare scramble by riding the YZ instead of the WR. Or riding the WR in MX compared to the YZ?

Depends on what year you are looking at, the 03 yz has a 4 speed close ratio gear box, that would not be good for the trails, and the wr has a flywheel weight, wide ratio trans, 18 inch rear wheel, e start, and its tuned down a bit to make it friendly on the trails..

Oops. missed the 450 part of it, so i take it your looking at the 03's. One other thing is that the yz is about 25lbs lighter than the wr

:thumb: And that's big IMO.

Do you need lights? Otherwise add a FWW and 50 or 51 tooth sprocket to the rear of a YZ and have fun.

E-start matters not to me on the new YZ/WR as they start very easy. Even with the 4 speed tranny, the top end with a 50 tooth rear is plenty fast. After riding a bud's YZ450 a few times I'll say I'm very impressed.
