XR 50 Oil Debate

Can an XR 50 use synthetic motor oil with the automatic 3 speed transmission? Would it burn up the clutch or make it slip.

Oil! You put oil in those things. We owned one for over a year and never even check it!!! Just kept riding and riding and riding. Seriously though. Some guys use synthetics in the Cobra's without ill effects. Try spinning to 5K before the clutch hits. That will smoke a bunch. The xR clutch hits so early it doesn't really have a chance to slip and glaze or burn up. Its already locked up just barely off idle.

I've used synthetic in my xr50(88cc's) with no problems despite what the
experts at thumpertalk say....Klotz.
