xr 20 question

Ok now that I've got someone to look in here, and mabey answer

I've been looking at getting a new exhaustr for the boys new toy. But when I look at them, I can't help but think that with the pipe being that close to his leg with no heat sheild, the results would not be cool. Does anyone know if the stock heat sheild fits over the aftermarket exhaust systems. Or how close they actually get to the legs of the rider. I know the stock exhaust is close, but the heat shield does do a good job. By the way, it's a 80

You can use the stock heat shield but you have to weld nuts on the aftermarket pipe to bolt it to.
Also you might have to bend it here or there because the aftermarket pipe might not have the same bend to it.
Your right though on all my bikes there are ugly marks from where pants have burned on the pipe.
