Hi guys,

I have a 97 XR400 its an awesome bike however the headlight only works when its on high beam, i bought the bike like this about 2 years ago, i want to fix the problem so that i can register the bike but im just completely lost with what to do.

I have pulled the switch out to check the contacts but all seams to be fine there, i also thought that it might have twin bulbs (high and low beam) however no it only has one bulb. I checked the wiring but i couldnt find any loose connections.

Im completly lost guys, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks, Corey

Although the XR's here in the states don't/didn't come with high/low beams (I'm assuming you're in Oz because of the flag), I would bet that you have a dual-filament bulb, and the low-beam filament has burned out.

Did you try going to the local dealer (or even taking the bulb to your local auto parts store) to get a new bulb and try it out? Could be as simple as that.
