Hi all,

I have a set of progressive fork springs for an xr400. I've read that stock xr400 springs are desireable for the kdx, but I wonder if these are... I don't need 'em, as my suspension is already set up, but I figured someone else might.

Another reader of this forum was kind enough to send me a stock silencer that he didn't need for free, so I'd like to 'pass it on' by offering these springs for free. The only catch is that you have to offer something that you have sitting around to the group for free... doesn't matter what it is, as long as it's something that a kdx rider would be able to use.

If he isn't interested, I may be. Send me some info like spring weight ect. Fast was first, so if he wants them, don't worry about the info.

The springs were for a '96 or '97 XR400 (I think it was a '96, but I'm not 100% sure), but that's all I know about them. I bought the bike years ago, and when I got it, it already had 50mm Marzocchi forks on it. The springs came with the box(es) of spare stuff, and have no instructions, preload spacers, etc. Just two springs with a note zip tied to 'em that says what they are.

Fast 200 - let me know if you want 'em so I can either send 'em to you, or pass 'em on to the next person interested.

As far as what to offer to the group, that's up to you. The idea is that it's something that you don't need that may be of value to a fellow rider.

Email me at [email protected] with your address if you want me to send 'em out to you.

Forgot to add: I believe that progressive only sells one weight of spring for a particular model, but I could very well be wrong on that. I know the couple of times I've bought them for street bikes in the past, there was only one spring available for each model. Maybe you can check with progressive about that?
