xr80 tips?

just recently picked up a 91 xr80r for my son.i was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks to keep it running strong? thanks in advance for any info..

Keep the filter clean, oil changed reguarly, and gas in the tank and you'll be fine...My old 1977 XR75 has lasted 25 year with the stock filter and piston and still starts up 1st kick. Honda did a great job on the small XR motors.

There was nothing really wrong with the filter, it had been clean and oiled regularly but it did look dirty and old but still worked fine.
