Opinion Needed: A local dealer has a Y2K KX125 still on the floor, never ridden. He's asking $4000.00 for it. Think this is a good deal? Also, with it sitting for so long, is there anything I should look out for (bad seals, oxidation, etc)?

Thanks!

Not a great deal IMO. The dealer has to sell it for that much because that is his invoice price(money he owes to kawasaki because the bike is on "consignment"). I got my 2001 2 months ago with 3 rides and almost 3000 dollars in mods and extras, the price, 3800. Great deal. Look in the private ads, you can find better than that. Locals are selling 2002 CR125's for 4000 and my bud got a 2002 RM125 for 4400 OTD with alot of finnagling.

Just my opinion though:)

I would try to get it for less... the bike is already 2 years old in bike terms. You can probably find an '02 for $4,500 and Kawi gives you either $300 in parts/accessories or you can get 0 down/0 payments/0 interest for 6 months.

You also have to consider when you turn around to sell/trade this bike - you are 2 years down on value - even if the bike has literally no hours on it. Try for lower!!
