Hey all, I just did the top-end on my 89' yz250. After putting it back together, I notice my coolent leaking from a couple parts of hose (clamps need tightening im sure) and there is a fuel leak from the bottom of the carb where the bottom cap/bolt goes in (seal?) well I tried to start it before these issues came to be, and it ran for about 10-15 seconds, i shut the choke off and it died. I started it up again and it ran for like 5 seconds, then I heard a ping sound and it died. Now it wont start at all. Has anyone experianced this before? What was that ping sound and why wont it start again? It still has the same compression, nothing feels differant. Also I changed the spark plug thinking it was wet or something, but it wasnt. Any help would be appreciated.

Hold the plug and kick - if your teeth chatter it has spark - just kidding. Remove the plug and attach lead. Set the plug on the head making sure the threads are touching metal. Kick it over and observe spark jumping gap ( it will help to do this in the shade ). You should see a nice blue spark.
