Hi guys, sorry to make my first post a bit mundane but I was hoping a few people may have a few helping hints for me....

I bought my YZ250 last year and had problems from the start :(

At first she rode great - mega quick bike, but after an hour or so of use she died.
The spark plug was badly carbon damaged....I put a new plug in and away she went again for another 50/60 mins before dying again.

She's been stood for 12 months without use now, but I finally have enough spare time to devote to getting her up and running again now - what steps do i need to take before attempting to start a bike that has been stood in the cold for 12 months???

Any advice would be really helpful
Cheers
Steve :)

First thing is to drain the gas from the tank and then go through the carb.

You will want to clean the carb well.

Next change the gear oil and clean the air filter for good measure.

Once you have done the routine maintenance you will want to think about re-jetting the bike so it doesnt foul plugs.

Thanks for that, I'm gonna make a start tonight.....hopefully get it all done in the next 2 weeks so I can get some good riding time out of her before the end of summer.

Cheers!!!
